Overview - Install Sample Environment on Your Local PC
You can download and install the Sample Environment for the SAS Press book Building Web Applications with SAS/IntrNet©: A Guide to the Application Dispatcher using the steps outlined here.For additional help installing the SAS© software components (vs. the Sample Environment for the book), you may want to search the SAS support site.
- Install the SAS CGI Tools.
- Configure the SAS Load Manager.
- Download and install the Web Server Components of the Sample Environment.
- Set Up the SAS Application Server.
- Update the Application Broker Configuration File.
- Download and install the SAS Server Components of the Sample Environment.
- Set Up Advanced (and optional) examples:
- Edit htmSQL files to point to your Share Server (Chapter 13)
- Define SMTP Mail Server (Chapter 19)
- Enable spawning of a separate SAS session (Chapter 19)
- Download/Install Web Services Application (Chapter 21)
These instructions assume the following:
- you are installing the sample environment on a Windows PC
- you are using IIS as your web server
- you are accessing these instructions from that PC.
